How to avoid spontaneous combustion of shot blasting dust
March 19, 2025

Spontaneous combustion of shot blasting dust is a very serious problem and may cause a fire. Therefore, it is very important to prevent spontaneous combustion of shot blasting dust.

1. When inspecting the shot blasting machine, it is necessary to strictly control the ignition source and avoid sparking in the circuit. When performing electric welding, it is necessary to first clean the surrounding area of dust. The machine can be put into trial operation 10 minutes after repair. In order to avoid hot particles or sparks being sucked into the dust collector, smoking and lighting an open fire near the shot blasting machine are strictly prohibited.

2. In order to avoid the accumulation of classic equipment and structures, increase the conductivity and use conductors or conductive materials instead of high-insulation materials, so all related equipment should have good grounding. Cloth bags should have good electrical resistance.

3. In order to prevent rust and dust from being deposited and heat energy from accumulating to generate sparks, it is necessary to remove dust from the dust collector in a timely manner, and regularly carry out back blowing and dust discharge in each shift.

4. Each user should carry out theoretical and practical training for operators and maintenance personnel so that employees can realize that rust dust is flammable and understand the ease of operation of dust collectors, and always pay attention to the working condition of dust collectors during production.

It is very important to complete the above four tasks well.
