The side-mounted cartridge dust collector is a dry-type dust removal device that separates dust particles from gas through a filter medium (cartridge). Its core principle is to separate dust from airflow via mechanisms including filtration, interception, and inertial collision.
As a classic type of baghouse/cartridge dust collector, the side-mounted dust collector is characterized by filter bags/cartridges arranged horizontally or obliquely along the side wall of the cabinet, distinguishing it from the vertical suspension structure of top-mounted collectors. It mainly adopts an outside filtration principle, where fine dust particles in dust-laden gas are captured by the filter media. The cleaning system is mostly a pulse-jet type (side jet / forward jet). Filter elements are installed, removed, and maintained from the side, requiring no top or bottom maintenance space. It is suitable for industrial dust collection conditions with limited plant height and convenient side access, and is widely used for medium and low air volume dust control in metallurgy, machining, sandblasting, shot blasting, and other industries.
1. Core Working Principle
Dust-laden gas enters the cabinet from the lower side air inlet. After being guided by the air distribution plate, it forms a stable horizontal airflow that evenly passes over the outer surface of the side-mounted filter bags/cartridges. Dust particles are captured by the filter fibers, achieving initial gas-dust separation.
The purified clean gas passes through the fiber layer of the filter bags/cartridges and is discharged from the upper side air outlet, completing the core filtration process.
As the filter operation continues, the dust layer on the outer surface of the filter elements thickens. When the system resistance reaches the set threshold, the side-jet pulse cleaning system starts automatically. Compressed air is injected into the filter elements at high speed through the side jet pipes.
The filter elements expand and vibrate instantaneously under the impact of airflow, causing the dust layer to fall off rapidly. The dust drops into the conical hopper at the bottom under gravity and auxiliary airflow.
When the dust accumulated in the hopper reaches a set level, the discharge valve opens regularly to discharge the dust. The filter elements restore their filtration capacity, completing one dust removal cycle. The equipment operates continuously and repeatedly.

Excellent Sealing Performance: The side-mounted tube sheet adopts an integrated sealed structure with special gaskets, preventing air leakage and cross-flow to ensure stable filtration efficiency.
Strong Adaptability: Compatible with round filter bags, pleated cartridges, and other filter elements; filter media can be customized (polyester, PPS, FMS, etc.), suitable for normal and medium-high temperature dust-laden gas.
Stable Operation: Filter elements are evenly stressed horizontally or obliquely, free from tensile wear of vertical suspension; long service life, low failure rate, and low maintenance cost.

Industries: Metallurgy, machining, sandblasting / shot blasting, hardware grinding, furniture manufacturing, plastic processing, food processing, building materials processing, welding fume control, etc.
Working Conditions: Medium and low air volume dust collection with limited plant height; purification of normal / medium-high temperature (≤200℃) dust-laden gas; treatment of medium and low concentration fine particulate dust (above 0.3μm); local point dust collection in workshops.
Application Points: Sandblasting / shot blasting booths, hardware grinding stations, furniture painting and grinding areas, welding stations, raw material crushing sides, material transfer points, small boiler flue gas purification, etc.
