A roller conveyor shot blasting machine cleans steel plate, sections and welded fabrications continuously, in line, before coating. Workpieces pass through the blast chamber on a powered roller conveyor while blast wheels throw steel shot at the surface, stripping mill scale, rust and weld spatter in one pass. Eight Q69 models cover 800 mm to 4,000 mm working width and 3 mm to 110 mm plate thickness. It does not shot peen, and it does not apply primer.
How a Roller Conveyor Shot Blasting Machine Works
Conveyor speed sets coverage. Workpieces travel at 0.5–4 m/min on seven models and 2–8 m/min on the Q6940. At 1 m/min a plate receives four times the shot exposure of 4 m/min, which is why heavy mill scale and a light descale run at different speeds.
Wheels scale with width. Abrasive flow runs from 8 × 180 kg/min on the 800 mm Q698 to 8 × 360 kg/min on the 4,000 mm Q6940, with wheel count and power rising to keep the pattern full at line speed.
One side or two, settled at the order. Wheels sit above the pass line, or a lower row is added so both faces are cleaned in one pass. The model code fixes width and thickness, not wheel arrangement; a lower row changes the wheel count, the frame and the power figure, so state it at the enquiry.
Abrasive returns, dust is captured. Spent shot falls to a screw conveyor, is lifted by a bucket elevator, cleaned in a separator and returned to the wheels; a roll brush strips residual shot behind the chamber. The chamber runs under negative pressure at 12,000–38,000 m³/h to a cartridge dust collector.
Continuous Pass-Through Blasting vs Pickling and Manual Cleaning
Pickling removes scale chemically; this machine removes it mechanically and dry — no acid, no rinse water, no spent liquor, and no wet plate to dry before priming. Against open-nozzle blasting the gain is containment and abrasive economy: the operator stays outside a sealed chamber, shot is recovered rather than consumed once, and the surface is produced at a set conveyor speed, which is what makes the grade repeatable.
Against batch machines the trade is different, not better. There is no loading cycle, so throughput is set by conveyor speed — but workpieces that cannot sit on a roller bed, or that are shorter than the roller pitch, belong on a tumble belt or a table machine.

How to choose. The Q698 and Q6910 are the entry into continuous blasting at 800–1,000 mm. The Q6912 is the specialist, with a closed 3–6 m length window and a 1,616 mm pit. From 1,500 to 2,500 mm the Q6915, Q6920 and Q6925 cover mainstream structural work to 60 mm. Above that only the Q6930 qualifies, at 110 mm. The 4,000 mm Q6940 takes 18 m lengths but drops back to 100 mm, so a buyer needing 4 m width and 110 mm thickness has no catalogue model. Do not choose on power — the Q6925 draws more than the Q6930 yet is the thinner machine.
Applications: Steel Structures, Plate and Profiles
Steel structures — H-beams, box girders, columns and trusses
Bridges and port machinery — heavy plate with mill scale from re-heating
Wind towers and pressure vessel shells — plate up to 4,000 mm
Engineering machinery — flame-cut frames and booms, weld spatter removal
Refurbishment — paint and rust removal before recoating
Surface Quality and Acceptance: Sa 2½ (ISO 8501-1)
Sa 2½ (ISO 8501-1) is the grade written into the technical agreement. What a plate reaches depends on incoming condition, abrasive specification — steel shot S-330 to S-390, grit G-12 to G-16 to SAE J444 — and conveyor speed. Surface roughness (Ra) is agreed against the coating system and checked at final acceptance.
Delivery, Installation and Service

Q: What workpiece sizes can the Q69 series handle?
A: Eight models cover 800–4,000 mm working width, 3–110 mm plate thickness and 1,200–18,000 mm workpiece length. Width runs from the 800 mm Q698 to the 4,000 mm Q6940. The 110 mm thickness cap belongs to the Q6930 alone. Width beyond 4,000 mm or length beyond 18,000 mm is engineered to order, without a catalogue model code.
